GG02

*Note:
  • GG stands for God Gathering, not Girls' Generation
  • Will not reveal their names so I gave them an initial each.

Who: K, C & Me
(K - Dad's 2nd elder sister, AKA my godmom. C - Dad's eldest sister's daughter, AKA my cousin & godsister.)
Where: Orchard (Ngee Ann City, Paragon & Tangs Plaza)
When: June 13, 2014, about 3pm till 9pm
What: GG 2!

C is coming back to SG for 3 days before flying off the Suzhou, China, with her mom. SG serves as a transit city from her longass flight starting from London, UK and ending at Suzhou, China. So K planned a day (minus morning) for us to gather again! So, she picked Friday the 13th of June since she had a day off. It was also my last day of the term before our two-week study break begins to let us better prepare for the second round of exams. Like I'll study!

To my surprise, the day picked was also the day where C will arrive in SG in the morning. I was worried as to how she will be able to survive the day out with jet lag. It was no joke man, seeing her fall asleep standing and etc. She even knocked out as soon as we got on K's car. But on the bright side, her body clock is fast adjusted to our timezone unlike her usual one-week jet lag recovery. Looks like she has discovered how to speed up the process ;)

C knocked out, in the car.
(Sorry for the pic, C!!) >.<

K picked C up and headed for town first as I was still in school T-T

I was supposed to end class at 4pm but thanks to faci, it was pushed forward, such that we began the afternoon class halfway during the morning class and skipping lunch break. Thank god, class for the day ended at 2+pm and I left as fast as I could so that I could catch up with them. The journey to Orchard MRT station was pretty slow, or I was just too anxious LOL.

We were supposed to meet at Ngee Ann City's Information Counter so I headed for it. However, both were not there so I whatspp-ed. Shortly after, C found me and we began chatting. She had just come from Kinokuniya and told me her phone was unable to make calls or send text messages. We were so engrossed in talking that I forgot about checking my phone about K. Took me 15mins to realize she'd replied and ask where we were. After finding us, they requested that I show them my sketchbookand K commented that the practices were so detailed, as if to train us to be Picassos. Haha!

So, we went to visit Céline shop because I wanted to see for myself of the products. Turns out they cost up to 5K$ and the designs at that time were not my type. Then we shopped at several branded shops because K wanted to shop. Thirsty, I asked if we could go and grab a drink at Coffee Bean (because we talked way too much!)

Satisfied with her loots, K decided to introduce us to a restaurant but while walking over, we passed by Canelé. We fell in love with the furniture, omg, the pink chairs were Victorian-styled and seemed comfy. So, we decided to try out the food and forgot about the restaurant K was gonna intro.

The waiter who led us to the table with sofa-like seats at the corner (exactly what we were eyeing for) was really funny.  His way to telling us to enter the restaurant was rather unique haha! We sat at the table and took some time to settle. We even talked before we looked at the menu HAHAHA. The restaurant had many dishes I wanted to try omg. Even the breakfast! Since there were 3 of us and we wanted to try as many as we could, I suggested choosing a dish from each section (Pastas, Wraps, Crepes) + soups. We chose Classic Carbonara, Beef Wrap and Duck & Coriander Crepes and both soups available on the menu. I chose most of them lolol and the best choice ever was Duck & Coriander Crepes. The pasta seemed more oilier but it was still delicious. Beef Wrap, unfortunately, was not what we expected. The beef turned out to be raw instead. We thought the beef would be cooked. The Duck & Coriander Crepes was the best of these 3 as it tasted almost like Beijing Peking Duck dish. The similar sweet taste and combination.

K was in such a hurry that she ordered desserts before we finished the dishes haha omg! The desserts available were Chocolate Fudge Cake, Mango Shortcake and some Matcha Cake. We did not order Matcha Cake as none of us are fans of Green Tea. The chocolate cake was rich in flavour as compared to the soft flavour of mango cake. Mango Shortcake is a better dessert to consume after a meal although Chocolate Fudge Cake was really delicious! I'm a chocolate fan, that's why. This restaurant is worth the consumption as the the dishes did not take long to serve. Also, there were a variety of dishes to choose from and the furnishing of the restaurant was pretty ambient and comfy. Must not miss out this!!
