Here goes:
#1 - A part-time job
I got a part-time job through a friend I met in a game. It was because he was the owner of the Raffles Place branch that I was able to get the job. The company's VeganBurg and it pays $7/hr!! I have asked friends who worked in the F&B industry and most of the pays were average $5/hr :/
Well, I'm glad I got this job because first of all, I get to experience working in the F&B industry (I have always wanted to!!!!) but most shops do not take in inexperienced ones unfortunately :( Plus, the pay is not bad and as I do not have class on Monday. I may jolly well work to earn some money instead of rotting away at home like how I did in March till the mid-April. Well, it was pretty chill because I finally had some time away from busy and stressful school life. Not to mention that the location is pretty nearby but inconvenient, though dad has been fetching me to and fro.
On the day of "interview"...

Cuz I forgot the nametage LOL |
Work on Vesak Day
Busiest day ever!! |
Wow, on first day at work, I actually fainted. Briefly. It was because I was too hungry and worked until I couldn't continue and when I was about to officially rest, I passed out on the way out. FML. It was like the biggest lesson learnt ever - Eat if your are hungry. But seriously, that was because I thought we were not allowed to eat or steal some food... So yeah... So embarrassing!! I rested for an hour and also ate my lunch to recharge. And then, I could function again~ ^^
And so, I made it a point to bring some snacks to eat during work. But in the end ah, I didn't eat. LOL. I just went to eat dinner when I was hungry. Like, seriously must eat else cmi. Plus, it was Vesak Day and there were soooo many customers!! Phone wouldn't stop ringing (for deliveries). Well, looking forward to doing more things at work :-) Cheers!!
Barely worked for 2 days at the main branch and suddenly no schedule for the next 3 available days :/ I felt like it wasn't okay because I did not find a job to only work 2 days okay. So I took the initiative to whatsapp my friend who's part of the higher-ups and he managed to get me a job at Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) branch since they were short-handed.

Expect the unexpected.Just kidding. It's Central Business Distrcit (CBD) area, what can we expect hahaha. The shop would be costly to rent and all. However, on the bright, sparkly side, this branch is much more atas than the casual setting at the main branch (Eunos). It was pretty small at MBFC and I did front-of-house work instead since the back-of-house had enough. It was enriching being stationed at the front-of-house as I got to serve customers food and learn more about how it works there, other than clearing the tables. And well, it was a pretty fun experience :)
#2 - Short reunions
Year 1 has started. School has started.
Friends go their separate ways after graduating from PFP (faculties, course & classes). Friends have come to RP to further their tertiary education.
Singapore is so small. What are the chances that you will run into your friends?
Not to mention that RP is pretty big even though it is the smallest polytechnic in Singapore. Of course, for big groups such as Freshman Orientation Programme (FOP) teams and etc., we try to find a time where MOST people can meet because it is obviously impossible to get everyone together unless we have no plans at all in life. Of course, we all have our plans and priorities. Pretty much why it's better to find a date to reunite, even for a short while, where most people can make it.
FOP Team 1 (some) reunite!!
KC reunite!! (missing Margaux & a couple of others)
Awkward standing because too tall :(( |
And not to forget, lunch with Rai on one of the days!! (No pictures, unfortunately)
We celebrated it thrice over the weekend - mom's mom, dad's mom and my mom (DUH!!).
On the first day, we went to visit my mom's lil sis because she had recently underwent an operation at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. And wow, the hospital is really nice and there was a pond. I could feel like I would go there while being heavily pregnant and hospitalised. Then we headed to a cafe/bistro called W39 that was along the way to gramma's house which is located in the west.
